About SyD

First we need to explain the "SyD." We wanted the founders' initials (S and D) in the name of the management company. Unfortunately, the use of the word "and" won't work, as in SaD. Not very good karma, so we used the Spanish word for "and", which is the letter "y". This works for us because both of us have lived in Mexico for extensive periods. This little tid-bit of information you probably could have done without... but we just wanted you to know.

The ideas behind SyD have been in the thinking and planning stage for over a year. The L.L.C. was formed in mid 2007 and it is amazing the amount of work that has been done to bring the company this far. Two trips were made to Dana Point to speak with representatives of P.A.E. We traveled to Florida to do the same thing and then to the British Virgin Islands and Chesapeake Bay to scout cruising grounds.
