Where will the boat be summer and winter?

The plan (for the first year of operation) is to winter in the Bahamas. Summer we will be headquartered in the Chesapeake Bay area. The following year may see us in the British Virgin Islands for the winter months and coastal cruising as far north as New York or beyond in the summer. We will have a world cruising yacht, and after the second full year we will have a discussion as to where the boat will go.

Who will reposition the boat?

We will either hire a professional Captain or one or more of the owners who volunteer will do it.

Why Nordhavn?

We will be cruising off shore. Our personal opinion is that we need the safest yacht afloat — and while this could be argued, if P.A.E. could take a 40 footer around the world, our bet is on the Nordhavn.

What are the insurance requirements for owners?

The insurance company that we pick will have boating experience requirements for owners to pilot the boat. If an owner doesn't have enough time on a yacht of this size, a licensed Captain will have to be on board until the owner can qualify. Long repositioning voyages will be a wonderful learning experience for those who want it.

How will the title be held?

We have formed an L.L.C. to hold title.
